THREE ways your participation can make a difference for our community. We need volunteers who can attend and speak out on the issues impacting our community. If you are interested in helping, please contact any of the following CPOA coordinators:
****ONE***General Plan Update Planning Commission HearingsMarch 11, 17 and 22, 2004 9:00AM Board of Supervisors Chambers, 240 Church Street, East Wing Rm. 225, Salinas , CA
The Planning Commission is holding a series of 4 public hearings to allow the public to voice their opinions of the current General Plan Update Rev. 3. The remaining hearing dates are:
***TWO*** Coastal Commission Hearing on the Monterey County Periodic Local Coastal Program Review Thursday, March 18 th , 2004 , 9:00AM Hyatt Regency Monterey , 1 Old Golf Course Road , Monterey
Potter stated that showing up in large numbers does make a difference. This will be the first time the Commission hears about the staff proposals so it will be a great opportunity to have them hear our concerns at the same time. This report was the basis for our last special general CPOA meeting on February 23 rd . We have many concerns and have posted our analysis on the CPOA web site ( www.cpoabigsur.com ).
***THREE***Coast Highway Management Plan Steering Committee Meeting Monday, March 15 th , 1:30PM to 3:30PM Hudson House near Point Lobos
The next CHMP steering committee meeting will determine whether or not your written comments will be considered prior to finalizing the plan. Past public comments have not been fully considered and included in the current draft. Your presence at this meeting could make a difference. The Hudson House driveway entrance is about 200 yards north on Highway 1 from the entrance to Point Lobos, on the ocean side of the highway.
